Brittany Michelle Pedersen is a lawyer, mother, businesswoman and community advocate. She lives in Aurora, Illinois with her 2 year old twin daughters. Born in St. Charles at Delnor Hospital, Brittany was raised in Elgin along with her two younger brothers. She attended Elgin public schools graduating from Elgin High School in 1997. As a dual citizen of the United States and Denmark, she is fluent in both English and Danish. Brittany graduated from Duke University in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in International Political Economics. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law in 2008.

Brittany is currently the owner and managing partner of The Law Offices of Pedersen, Campbell & Irvin, Ltd. Prior to merging with the firm of Richard Irvin & Assoicates, Ms. Pedersen was a sole practitioner with Brittany M. Pedersen & Associates. In the summer of 2012 she joined her mentor, DJ Tegeler’s law firm where until she became a partner of the Law Office of Tegeler & Pedersen in June 2014. Licensed as an attorney in the State of Illinois in 2009, she began her practice in medical malpractice defense and litigation with mid-size Chicago law firm. Her current primary areas of concentration are criminal defense litigation, business law and family law. Brittany serves individuals in Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties.

Between the fall of 2009 and summer of 2012, Ms. Pedersen was an Assistant Public Defender in Kane County, Illinois. She represented indigent defendant’s accused of murder, sex crimes, narcotic offenses, juvenile offenses and multitude of lesser class criminal offenses. At the time, as the only African-American public defense attorney in Kane County, Brittany was a member of a multi-disciplinary diversity council working diligently to address the gross disparity between African-American and Caucasian children being taken into foster care within the county. She worked diligently on behalf of those residents of Kane County who couldn’t afford attorneys. She treated and continues to treat all of her clients with dignity and compassions ensuring that they are treated fairly under the law.

Prior to attending law school Ms. Pedersen was employed with Attorney General Lisa Madigan, as a staff fundraiser during her 2002 campaign for Attorney General and joined her at the Illinois Attorney General’s office as a legislative affairs and crime victim’s rights assistant in the criminal division.

Brittany Pedersen is also a business owner and entrepreneur in Kane County. She is the majority owner of her family’s landscape contracting business, Pedersen Company, located in St. Charles, Illinois. Pedersen Company is a successful specializes in commercial landscaping installation including green roofs, retention wall installation, ponds and brick work throughout Chicago and the Chicagoland area. Ms. Pedersen’s father has been in the landscaping business for over 45 years and it’s a profession and service that her family intends continue and honor. Pedersen Company just celebrated its 25th year anniversary in the summer of 2019.

Ms. Pedersen is a board member and President-Elect of the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (IACDL). She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the

Kane County Bar Association. She has been asked to speak at seminars for the Chicago Bar Association, Northern Illinois public defenders’ offices and the IACDL. In her community Ms. Pedersen is a governing board member of Two River’s Head Start, a member of the Danish American Athletic Society, and Midwest Danish Chamber of Commerce.
